CHALLENGE
This leading Danish supplier of maintenance capability to windfarms was seeking an ability to deliver an onboard capability to access a number of their key IT systems on mobile devices using the ship-based networks whilst out on service but to subsequently synchronise information as the ship came within range of their port facilities.
SOLUTION
2Go’s ability to provide wifi based connections for users to a wide variety of key applications running within the ship-based network using an “on-premise” 2Go Server installation provided an immediate “fix” to the CHALLENGE of use at sea and in conjunction with the IT team the contents of the 2Go Server and underlying applications could then be synchronised when within range of the port facilities.
BENEFIT
The deployment of 2Go mobile solutions allowed engineers to use immediate onboard access to critical turbine maintenance systems onboard ship without the need to develop expensive mobile apps and without delay and thus provide more immediate access and updates to critical data in the field
